1. Privacy Policy (Your Data)
At Coetzee Data AI Consultants (Pty) Ltd, we value your privacy. Here is how we handle your information:
- Location Data: We only access your GPS when you actively log a truck sighting, to record the approximate location of the report. We do not track you in the background.
- Anonymity: Your reports are anonymous to other users. They see only a green dot on the map — not your name, device, or house number.
- Local Storage: Your membership status (Free or Pro) and ping count are stored locally on your device only and are not linked to a personal account.
- No Data Selling: We never sell or share your personal information with third parties.
- Push Notifications: If you enable alerts (Pro feature), your browser handles the notification. No personal contact details are stored by us.
2. Terms of Service
By using RubbishRouter, you agree to the following:
- Community Powered: RubbishRouter is a crowdsourced app. We do not guarantee the accuracy of truck locations or arrival times as all data is provided by community members.
- No Municipal Affiliation: RubbishRouter is not affiliated with any municipality or official waste management body. It is a private community tool.
- No Liability: We are not responsible for missed collections, municipal service failures, or inaccurate reports. We provide the platform; the community provides the data.
- Fair Use: Users who submit false or misleading reports may be excluded from the community to protect other residents.
- Changes to the App: We may update features, pricing, or these terms at any time. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
3. Free Access & Pro Subscription
- Free Tier: The live map, community feed, truck ETA, and logging features are free for all residents with no time limit.
- Pro Subscription — R15/month: Upgrading to Pro enables push notifications when the truck is near your street. Payment is processed securely via Zapper.
- Cancellations: You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time by not renewing. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees.
- Refunds: Refund requests for the current billing period may be submitted to info@coetzeedataconsultants.co.za and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Business Advertising: Separate terms apply to business ad placements. Ads are subject to review and approval before going live. No refunds are issued for ads that violate community standards.
4. POPIA Compliance
We comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Act 4 of 2013. You have the right to:
- Request access to any personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your personal information.
- Object to the processing of your personal information.
